2005-11-21
Matthew Borghese - All Headline News Staff Writer
Kuala Lampur, Malaysia (AHN) - Authorities in Kuala Lampur found a 17-foot poisonous king cobra snake lurking near a center for delinquent youths.
The giant snake evaded the efforts of firemen for over an hour, prompting police to call in snake charmer, Mohamad Shaiful Abdul Aziz. Using only his hands, the 21-year-old captured the snake in "just 10 minutes."
The snake weighed in at 33 lbs., to which Abdul Aziz says, "I have never come across such a big king cobra."
A king cobra can grow up to 18 feet in length, and can lift itself upright to about the height of a grown man.
